The pistol is fully silver-mounted throughout, including mounts, furniture, and fittings, reflecting a high-quality London commission. The butt is carved with a grotesque mask terminal, a decorative feature associated with the period. Set into the grip is a silver escutcheon engraved with a family crest depicting an armored knight holding a sword. The pistol is signed Turvey, London, identifying the London gunmaker and underscoring the refined craftsmanship and fashionable ornament typical of Queen Anne pistols of this type.
