Unique Model 1855 Pistol-Carbine

$8,999.00

The Springfield Armory made about 4000 of these from 1855-1857: BUT NO DOUBT ONLY ONE LIKE THIS!!!! Instead of the usual smooth wood grips, this has deep elaborate checkering with a carved shield in the center. Also the usual plain Jane barrel band is not here. Instead is a decorative brass example with a federal shield on the top. The 12 inch round barrel is a monster intended to be shot by cavalry soldiers from the saddle. A detachable should stock had it into a carbine instead of a very long pistol. the story I was told is that the Spiringfiled Armory made this one the the Governor of Ohio`
