The very best Beeaknose sword

$8,900.00

The most elaborate and decorative Scottish 17th century basket hilt sword known as a ribbon hilt and nicknamed “Beakknose” for the small protrusion at the bottom front of the hilt which was placed there for effecting punching with the sword when needed. The rest of the hilt consists of cartouches in circular form held in place by ribbons, bars and the letter S indicating the support of Bonny Prince Charlie of the Stuart line of succession for whom the users of these swords fought bravely and to defeat at the battle of Culloden the final confrontation of the Jacobite rising in 1745
