Officer's Brass pinfire revolver

$3,750.00

A truly beautiful example of the earlier of true cartridge weapons. This is a six shot French/Belgian pinafore pistols. Brass with light engraving an wonderfully toned ivory grips with a lanyard ring below. Double action. This is the kind of example often carried by week to do Confederate officers, particularly after Stonewall Jackson acquired a pair of similar examples. This is a Belgium made 12 MM example produced under license from Lefaucheux whose name only appeared on those examples made in France. The pinafore system was invented by Lefaucheus in 1828 and patented by him in 1853. It was the most advanced system in the Civil War in that it used metallic cartridges at a time when percussion ruled the day.
