Iconic British Sea Service Pistol 18th Century

$4,750.00

Massive 20 inch Sea Service pistol only found in this large configuration in the 18th century. This size was intended as a boarding weapon which was fired once and then turned about to use its large brass butt cap as a club. This example has a rare identification on the barrel reading HMS CEASAR which was a 70 gun war ship ordered in 1777. The lock is marked Tower and the letters GR below the crown of King George. Also on the lock is the military Broad Arrow, indicating military service. The flintlock mechanism works properly in all positions.
