Serial Number 200. The most romantic of all Confederate arms. Great condition finished in the white. Rare and wonderful

. Numerous texts talk of the Lemat revolvers. Confederate Handguns by William Albaugh and Ed Simmons denote their largest chapter on this particular manufacturer. Other texts have emerged over the years with the most definitive being written by Doug Adams. Even in the 1997 prize winning and top selling novel Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier, the hero, Inman, carries a pair of LeMat revolvers. LeMat revolvers were, indeed, prized by Confederate soldiers as they were 9-shot pistol with 18 gauge shotgun barrel in addition. Well marked. Bbl address is crisp as are SNs that are found on all major components. Checkered stock is very good.

Wiley Sword in his text Firepower From Abroad notes that only the first 1450 LeMats made it to the Confederacy in time for the Gettysburg Campaign. This would have been one. LeMat revolvers were prized by their Confederate owners (and Yankee capturers too). Many notable Confederate Generals and Officers were known to have carried these unique weapons. Almost certainly the most popular side-arm of the Civil War then and now.
